About the B3 Guidelines Tracking Tool

This B3 Guidelines Tracking Tool website is for tracking performance and compliance with the B3 State of Minnesota Sustainable Building Guidelines which are required for all new construction and major renovations receiving funding from the bond proceeds fund. See the B3 guidelines website for detailed guideline information, guideline downloads, and support information. The B3 guidelines are maintained and supported for the State of Minnesota by The Center for Sustainable Building Research (CSBR) at the University of Minnesota. The B3 Guidelines Tracking Tool was designed by CSBR with The Weidt Group who also created this website.

Please contact B3 Guidelines Support with any questions on either the guidelines or the associated tracking tool. Call Patrick Smith at 612-626-9709 or msbghelp@umn.edu for assistance.

The B3 Guidelines are a part of the Buildings, Benchmarks & Beyond (B3) Project. Project management and delivery is led by LHB, Inc.; the guideline development process is led by the Center for Sustainable Building Research (CSBR) at the University of Minnesota; and public building benchmarking (B3 Benchmarking) is led by The Weidt Group. B3 Benchmarking identifies the energy performance of existing public buildings in order to direct energy conservation improvements where they are most needed and most cost-beneficial, as well as aid in ongoing management of energy performance.

Minnesota Sustainable Buildings 2030 is an energy standard and program required for all new construction and major renovations receiving funding from the bond proceeds fund. These have been incorporated as a required reference standard into B3 Guidelines as of version 2.1.
